Austin’s Mirabelle Restaurant
Mirabelle offers as many dessert items as it does appetizers, so it is a very difficult decision. Once again, I suggest each diner in your party order one dessert and share with the table (although you might have to fight off incoming forks). Every dessert at Mirabelle is given personalized attention, and executive chef David Apthorpe will make your mouth water with his beautiful and tempting after-dinner treats. Combining fresh fruits with creams, cakes, tarts, and puddings in a luxurious and delightful manner is the way Mirabelle approaches dessert and the result is magnificent. The White Chocolate Almond Cheesecake is a sensual pleasure. And the Peanut Butter Mousse Cream Torte will have peanut butter lovers on their knees begging for the recipe. The decadent flavor of the mousse is paired perfectly with the generous roasted-peanut crust. The Bittersweet Chocolate Truffle Tart is a lovely chocolate custard in a flaky almond crust. It’s perfect for sharing with your sweetheart. Mirabelle’s Tiramisu is, put plainly, just so very good. The fluffy cake-like layers of espresso and brandy-laced pastry are parted by Marscapone cream filling and it’s all topped with luscious bits of shaved chocolate. The Chocolate Mousse is a lighter dish by comparison to many of Mirabelle’s other desserts, and has a silky-smooth texture that melts in your mouth. Made from Belgian chocolate, Mirabelle chooses only the best ingredients for all of its meals and dishes. While other tortes, crisps, puddings, and sorbets are also very tempting and incredibly delicious, the Classic Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee stands apart from everything else. With so many creme brulee recipes available at Austin restaurants, none top Mirabelle’s crispy custard delicacy. It is a savory and delectable dessert. But be careful, once you have tried the creme brulee, you may never be able to try any other dessert item, although you’ll surely be tempted. I do hope this brief though somewhat cursory glance into this excellent restaurant has whet some appetites, and made some stomachs growl in anticipation of a perfect meal, although nothing is a substitute for the real thing. So give Mirabelle a call, set up a reservation, or book one of their two private dining rooms for a special occasion and find out for yourself how magnificent it is to treat yourself to an exquisite meal.
